Much to my surprise one of the 15 or so pupae I have had for several months of some Pink-striped Oakworm Moths I raised emerged yesterday! As you might guess from the very thin antennae this is a female and she started laying eggs when hours of emergence which I found unusual since every since Saturniidae I have ever seen waited at least a day to do so. Anyway, you may see the larva of this one here: [link]

Scientific Name: Anisota virginiensis
Family: Saturniidae
Subfamily: Citheroniinae (Ceratocampinae)
Tribe: None

Very nice Ryan! I always find it satisfying when you raise caterpillars and then see them emerge. Good job!
