Of course there is no such thing as a Blue mangrove but there is the lovely Mangrove Skipper which features a iridescent blue on its ventral side. Happy as I am to have gotten this shot I wish I could have brought out the color even more as they are very bright indeed. I camp out for about 45 minutes to get this shot as these two kept comming back to nectar on some Pentas at Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, FL.

awesome! i was about to ask you if you had any shots of the mangrove skipper. i have only got a good look at it once, but that flash of blue is unforgettable. i hope you will still be able to get a shot of it's underside someday.

I do actually have a couple of shots of the underside but they aren't up to my standard so for the time being they will remain hidden away.
