A co-worker of mine found this little beauty wondering about our greenhouse on Saturday. I caught it and brought it into the exhibit and quickly lost it. Today I came across it again and thus here we are. This is the Eight-spotted Forester called such because it does often show both fore and hind wings each with a total of 4 spots and thus its name. Its fairly colorful for a moth and thats because it is diurnal. The blue metalic shine and tellow spots serve as a warning to those who would eat it...if not photograph it.
