Misty Sea by Fezzgator Misty Sea by Fezzgator
Seeing as I have direct access to less common species at the Butterfly Rainforest, I often times feel guilty submitting photos of species that are common at butterfly houses. However, in this case I really liked the shot so here it is! A Clipper attempting to nectar on a Mistflower that was less than happy with all the ran just dumped on it.

Scientific Name: Parthenos sylvia lilacinus
Family: Nymphalidae
Subfamily: Limenitidinae
Tribe: Parthenini

Lovely photo! This may be a butterfly you see every day at work, but I've only seen this species once in my life, so "common" is certainly relative. Besides, if a photo is artistically pleasing, I personally don't care if it's of a common butterfly.

Your words are certainly kind and you are indeed right about relativity I was just thinking that of all the species one might find posted here this would be higher up on the list is all and I usually try to post something people never get to see.
